Jenna Gates

Depending on how you arrived here, you may be wondering "Just who is this nycgadgetgirl person anyway?"

I am an IT project manager, freelance web developer and consultant, active canine rescue volunteer, and advocate of responsible dog ownership. I own and maintain two websites related to my interests – nycgadgetgirl.com and jennaandsnickers.com.

NYCGadgetGirl.com

This site started out as a place to advertise web development services after I sold my web hosting and development company, Abraxas Enterprises, Inc., to another host in 2000. The domain name matches my AIM username, which had started off as a joke.

By 2004 I wasn’t doing much development any more but I still had the site, so I added a blog – mostly to write about the puppy that my daughter and I had added to the family earlier that year. Over the years, I’ve written over 400 posts about dog ownership, life in NYC, friends, family, Shiba Inus, and even a bit about technology and gadgets. :)

I still provide website and blog consulting and development services when I have time. If you’re interested in hiring me, please take a look around the site and then contact me!

Humane education, responsible dog ownership and canine rescue have all become increasingly important to me over the last several years. In August 2008, I started Jenna & Snickers (.com) as a separate place for my dog-related writing. If you’re a dog lover, drop by and visit sometime.
