She’s FAR Away :(
Posted Friday, November 25th, 2005 by nycgadgetgirlMy mini me is in Europe for the long weekend (with her dad) and she feels a LOT further away than when she just went uptown to spend time with him.
This isn’t QUITE the furthest we’ve ever been from each other though. According to Google Earth (which totally rocks, btw), she is 3,317.72 miles from home right now. The furthest apart we have ever been was 3,849.12 miles in March of 2000.

Was she excited about the trip? Have you talked to her yet? (I don’t remember when she was leaving, and therefore have no idea when she was getting there.)
3300+ miles, eh? Seems farther when you spell it out like that…

She did finally get excited about it the week or so before she went. She left Wednesday night (landed yesterday morning). I talked to her once yesterday and twice today.
She’s having a great time and she loves “the backwards cars!”
The only thing that makes it NOT seem like a gi-normous distance is that she’s roaming. She text’d me “I’m here,” as soon as her plane landed and we can text for $0.35 each and talk for $0.99/minute. Not so bad when you consider what long distance calls costs 10 or 15 years ago!!!
