It won’t be released in the states till March, but Things As They Are: Photojournalism in Context Since 1955 can be pre-ordered on Amazon.com or depending on where you are… it came out in Europe a couple months back (for a big World Press Photo shindig) and it’s available on Amazon UK right now.
How do I know and why do I care? The author – Mary Panzer – is a friend of mine. I think Mary is wonderful and she’s so knowledgable about all manner of history, especially photojournalism. She was the curator of photographs at the Smithsonian for awhile and she’s also a professor at NYU. Oh, and her dog, Rafter, is one of Snick’s bestest friends! 
Anyway, if you’re into history, photos, or photojournalism, check out this book. And let me know what you think. (Don’t worry; there will be a timely reminder in March for those of you in the US.)
