Dogs Deserve Better
Posted Thursday, September 21st, 2006 by nycgadgetgirlI understand that there are terrible things happening to people all over the world and even in my neighborhood. I care very much about those things, but that doesn’t mean I can’t care about less dire things. I also realize that only a relatively wealthy society like ours can afford the “extras” we give our pets in the U.S. . . . the beds, the clothes, the extraordinary medical measures. (I once knew a dog with a pace maker.) However… every living creature deserves to die free of pain and suffering if at all possible. Now, go read about Doogie.

That’s so disturbing that I think I am going to be sick.
Her hearing is today. If anyone should be charged, it ought to be the Humane Society/AC people who were absolutely irresponsible with their “response” to the situation.

I agree, Lachlan… TPTB were absolutely unresponsive, and they’re the ones who should be taking the heat… not the one person who did something to save this dog’s life.
(And did you see the updated video on the page? They’ve got a video of him up and walking around and peeing on trees, just eight days after being picked up and carried away from his neglectful “home”. Go Doogie!)

Go Doogie indeed! Amazing. Dogs are quite resilient- especially with good care.
