Food and Friends
Posted Thursday, November 23rd, 2006 by nycgadgetgirlI have a lot to be thankful for, but this is not a long, sappy post listing all those things. This is just to say that I really love my friends and I’m so happy to finally be living in the version of New York City that I was headed for when I left the South and moved up here in the 80s. (Yes, the 80s. I am that old.) I didn’t find it then, although I found a lot of great clubs, fun times <grin>, one life-long friend and my first ex-husband (not that there’s been a second one yet, but…).
Anyway, my point was that I love that New York City is the biggest small town on earth. I have made a lot of good friends here and a number of them are within walking distance of my apartment. Yesterday afternoon, I received a last minute dinner invitation for myself, Miss ~T~, Snickers and Secret to all go over to a friend’s place for homemade chicken stew. YUM! Today, we spent the afternoon and evening with friends (old and new) eating a traditional t(of)urkey dinner with all the trimmings and then singing karaoke for a few hours. And, the funnest part? There were FOUR Shiba Inus at this gathering. hee hee!
Anyway, it’s great here. I love it. And I love my friends. Thanks guys!

Now, THAT’S my kind of Thanksgiving! Shiba filled! One of the little girls at my cousin’s house yesterday absolutely fell in LOVE with Wolf! She kept asking if we could take him for a walk so she could love on him…and he loved her right back
