Tommy - I have lots of advice about introducing dogs but most of it is rattling around in my head in random bits and pieces. :) Myself and one of my colleagues are planning to write an article about this soon. In the meantime, I suggest joining a great mailing list for Shiba owners that is filled with breeders, experts and fanciers.
