I’m definitely thinking of resdesigning in the near’ish future, but what about renaming?
I’ve been nycgadgetgirl for such a long time, but these days I mostly post about dogs. “Gadget Girl” doesn’t necessarily suit me any more, although the history of how I got the name is still meaningful to me.
The fact that I’m not freelancing much any more and rarely blog about techie or gadget stuff wasn’t enough to make me think of renaming, but now I won’t be living in New York for at least four years! NYCGadgetGirl = no NYC and no gadgets? hmmmm… I’m not so sure about that.
I could just go with jennagates.com. Although it has a definite self-centeredness about it, there’s no chance I’ll outgrow my own name. (No, not even if I get married again some day. I’ve done the name change thing and learned my lesson.)
Or maybe something completely different. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

I can relate to the wondering about domain names… While I’ll never ever ever give up reddogs, it kinda hurts that I only currently have a singular red dog.
I think what I mostly need to do is just revamp the whole thing, keep the historical bits (pictures, etc.), make memorial pages for Chase and Bretta, and then just keep it going. It’s just weird, though.
I don’t think I’d do the name thing, though… do something fun… or get back into gadgets and you can just be nycgadgetgirl in exile.

Personally you are nycgadgetgirl to me… I do like the added “… in exile” though
But I think there’s a lot of folks out there that are so used to nycgadgetgirl and like the familiarity. Maybe you’ll have more time to get back into gadgets?? It IS a big part of you though; something you enjoy.

heh. In case you guys are wondering… nycgadgetgirl in exile was an idea Debbie and I had a year or more ago when we first discussed the idea of me moving to Indy. I was thinking of stamping “in exile across my logo.
