Hi Jenna! It's been a very long time. We met at MetroPets and Astro's dog run over a year ago several times over a year ago. Just wanted to say good luck with your move! It must be a very bittersweet time for you, but you will no doubt enjoy it out there. I have also taken a 4 year hiatus from NYC to go back to school in Boston, but it's comforting to know that I will be back after that. I wish you, T, and Snickers the best of luck with the move!

Gotcha- that makes total sense, and I figured it was the space constraint driving you. There aren't many vehicles out there that will accommodate two dog crates in a safe way. I loved my Cherokee for that- it was so awesome.

Nikkoth - thanks! <g>

Debbie - It gets 18mpg. A little better than your Trooper, but not much. I may end up wanting to borrow the Beetle sometimes when you aren't using it.

Lachlan - Since I go more places with Snick than without, I need something I can fit both dog crates into for traveling. I was planning to buy something a little smaller, like a Ford Escape, but I'm getting this Jeep for about 1/3 of its current KBB value. Eventually, if I get a decent job and pay my debt down, I'll probably buy a little economy car of some sort. In the meantime, I'll borrow the aforementioned Beetle when it's not inconvenient for Debbie.

So I have a TOTALLY retarded question. Feel free to tell me to STFU. :)

WHY are you buying a Jeep? I'm not an SUV-hater, I loved my Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Is it the space factor?

Heh... I'm scared to add up what I spent on gas during the last couple of weeks, with all the back and forth to the new house in the Trooper with loads of stuff.

What kind of mileage does the Jeep get? At the _worst_, you probably would be commuting about 35 miles (that's to downtown). And honestly, if you don't end up working from home, I expect we'll be able to figure a way to carpool at least part of the time. I have to be at the office by 8:30, and you'd be going right past there to get almost anywhere else in Indy, so I think we could find a way to make it work. Just don't take a job working nights, or where you have to be at work at 7 a.m. or something. :-)

Cool about the breadcrumbs... that was really sweet!

Debbie G.s last blog post was the post that was supposed to be first from the new house...

heh. In case you guys are wondering... nycgadgetgirl in exile was an idea Debbie and I had a year or more ago when we first discussed the idea of me moving to Indy. I was thinking of stamping "in exile across my logo. :)

I will definitely miss all those things. <sigh>

Snick wouldn't want you to know it, cz he's such a man about his feelings, but we'll both miss you too.
