Equality Does Not Mean Sameness

Andrea Harner has a couple of great posts this week related to feminism and equality. The first one references a Maureen Dowd article in the NYT and the second post references a NYMag article about author Mary Gaitskill.

Both articles are about modern women conforming to 1950s-type norms of feminine behavior. I think a lot of people see this as a black-and-white issue when it will never be that simplistic.

Note: I had more to say here, but no time to put it into coherent language.
